Jake Vaughan-Appel
Jake Vaughan-Appel has joined as harvest site manager, Coleambally, as the site prepares to receive its first loads of barley this weekend.
Jake developed a passion for grain working at Grainlink during the 2020-21 harvest.
Having grown up in Griffith and currently based at Leeton, he knows the industry well and came to it via stints in concreting and commercial cookery.
His focuses as site manager are safety, efficiency and professionalism and Jake says he has a fantastic team around him to ensure customers at Coleambally are well supported.
Johnathon Quince
Joining in early October, Johnathon Quince is AgConnex’s site manager at Wumbulgal.
With previous experience at Manildra Group’s Grong Grong site, Johnathon has developed a passion for the grain industry. He enjoys tackling the day-to-day challenges, and meeting the range of people who work together to make the industry thrive.
From Narrandera, Johnathon built a 27-year career working at meat processor JBS Foods before making the switch to grain.
He says with some warmer weather on the way, the season is shaping up to be a good one.
Rory Hanratty
A strong background in quality and a desire to learn more about the east-coast grain industry made AgConnex a perfect fit for Rory Hanratty.
The newly-appointed operations coordinator assists with day-to-today logistics at AgConnex’s four sites after making the move from Western Australia.
Rory’s prior roles include working for CBH Group in WA as site manager, and Demeter Grains as quality technician, among others.
Having grown up in WA, Rory was keen to broaden his knowledge and learn more about the grain industry on the other side of the country, where access to irrigation means different growing conditions such as larger, more consistent yields.
He’s looking forward to broadening his knowledge and meeting the region’s growers and industry colleagues.
