Riverina grain storage and handling company AgConnex has reported a good 2024-25 harvest, increased volumes on last year.
CEO Geoff Barker said he was pleased with the result.
“Overall, quality was consistent across all commodities, and the late frost events didn’t seem to impact things too much.
“All our sites, especially Wumbulgal, saw solid support from growers this year, which was very pleasing.”
AgConnex operates four receival sites across the region at Benerembah, Carrathool, Coleambally and Wumbulgal. The Wumbulgal site can load bulk or container grain directly onto trains for domestic and export markets.
Mr Barker says significant upgrades were made to all sites prior to the season, aimed at improving operational performance and increase throughput.
“We’ve invested in new equipment which has seen gains in efficiencies at all sites.
“Our team has been fantastic again this year, with several new appointments complementing our existing experienced staff. This made sure that everything was operating smoothly for our growers.”
Headquartered at Griffith, AgConnex is locally owned and operated, taking wheat, barley and specialty grains such as durum and popping corn.
“Overall, I am really pleased with our season, and how we handled the increased volumes relatively smoothly,” Mr Barker said.
“It’s been a good year, but there’s always more to do.
“Over the coming months, we’ll be turning our attention to summer crops, as well as making further infrastructure and operational improvements, ready for the 2025-26 season.
“And as always, we’ll be working hard to deliver value to all our stakeholders.”
