The new operator of the Benerembah, Carrathool, Coleambally and Wumbulgal grain sites, AgConnex, is holding grower meetings across the region next week.

Growers are invited to attend for an update on operations, staff, segregation and who is buying, with reps from Allied, Riordan, Flexigrain and Arrow also on hand.

Still locally owned, AgConnex is led by CEO Geoff Barker who brings strong agribusiness leadership credentials, including as general manager of Australian Bulk Alliance, chair and director of Grain Trade Australia, grain trading manager with Cargill and CEO of Broadbent Grain.

He said the meetings are a great opportunity for growers to meet with the AgConnex team and its clients as harvest gets underway.

“Now that we are back to full operations, we’re looking forward to catching up with growers face to face to share information about the substantial changes we are making to our business,” he said.

“This includes a new name and a fresh operational approach that will be positive for our grower customers and processing clients.”

In September, AgConnex reached an agreement with creditors affected by the voluntary administration of several GrainLink companies, with full trading conditions reinstated so that affected stock holdings could be finalised and new crop receivals could commence.

Geoff said the company is modernising its business approach, aiming for a sustainable business that’s considered a trusted partner.

“For example, last week we launched the AgriChain ecosystem across our operations.

“This is a significant shift in our processes that aligns to industry best practice.

“All stock ownership, title transfers, cashing and requests to outturn grain are now being transacted using AgriChain.

“It means we now have a clear and transparent process in place that is secure for growers, traders, financiers and all our clients.

“It’s one of many changes we are making to improve the efficiency, traceability and effectiveness of our operations.

“We have a great, experienced team on board that are focused on our goal for a seamless supply chain experience that adds value to our growers and clients.”
